What is different about a Functional Wellness Visit?
Our Functional Wellness visits focus on providing Functional Medicine through a trained or certified Institute for Functional Medicine Provider. Functional medicine is a patient centered approach to medicine with a focus on helping you to feel well and looking for underlying causes to prevent and reverse illness – not just treating you when you are sick. Functional medicine providers take extra time with patients to listen to their history and symptoms and look at the interactions between genetics, environment, and lifestyle factors that influence long term health to create treatment plans that work, not just prescribe more pills.
Conventional medicine is rooted in an acute care model focused on rapid diagnosis and long term pharmaceutical interventions. Functional medicine is a model for health care that focuses on identifying and addressing the underlying causes of chronic disease and then providing treatment that is individualized to prevent or reverse chronic disease.
All visits with Amy or Amanda are a Functional Wellness visit with the exception of your annual physical exam, well child examinations, and sick appointments.

What does it cost?
The Functional Wellness Visit cost varies based on which provider you choose to see and payment is rendered at the time of service. Functional wellness visits provide some services that are NOT BILLABLE TO INSURANCE. We will continue to bill all medical services that are billable to your insurance plan including regular office visits and you will get a bill for anything that is considered by insurance to be your portion.
Certified Functional provider Amy Nicley’s Functional Wellness fee is $190 plus an office visit fee.
Trained Functional provider Amanda Miller Functional Wellness fee is $150 plus an office visit fee.
Are there other options?
Amy also provides care for patients under the Hope Care monthly membership model, for many patients this provides an advantage both financially and in optimizing their health! Or you may switch to seeing Dr. Bleeke who provides a combination of traditional and functional medicine with the Excell Care Program.
