Meet Tara Fox, DNP

A FEW WORDS FROM Tara…

Hello, I am Dr. Tara Fox and so excited to join the Excell for Life provider team!

I am a Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner with 10 years of experience. I received my undergraduate degree from Virginia Tech in Biological Sciences, followed by my R.N. and Masters of Nursing from Vanderbilt University in 2010.

After graduating, I moved to Washington, D.C. and worked in a specialty clinic focusing on infectious disease and post-infectious syndromes. My six-year tenure provided me with opportunities to work with healthcare professionals nationally and internationally, combine my knowledge of child development and evidence-based practice, as well as deepen my passion to improve outcomes for those suffering from chronic illness secondary to infection. After accruing a large population of patients with Pediatric Autoimmune Neuropsychiatric Disorder After Streptococcus (PANDAS), I began to recognize the deficiencies in care for this vulnerable population, and the frustration many families are faced with throughout the diagnosis and treatment process.

I recently graduated with my Doctorate of Nurse Practitioner (DNP) degree from Georgetown University with a focus on improving the current PANDAS screening process. Along with continuing to conduct research in this area, I work as an assistant professor in the doctoral nursing program at Marian University. However, the position I am most excited about is working as Lead of the Excell Pediatric Program to improve the health of our youngest population, taking a functional approach!

While working in DC, I was fortunate enough to meet Dr. Miller. Since our introduction in 2014, we have collaborated to improve the well being of many patients at our separate clinics but now hope to spend our collaborative efforts building a practice to meet the needs of our pediatric population. From well visits to chronic illness, we strive to provide your family with the most up-to date medical information order to keep your kids at their healthiest.

When I am not teaching or in the clinic, I enjoy playing tennis, painting, taking long walks with my Labrador, Tucker, and trying new restaurants in Indy.

I look forward to meeting with you and your family!
