Natural Diaper Rash Healing & Prevention
All babies have diaper rashes at one time or another. Here are great natural tips to prevent and treat diaper rashes. A daily habit of applying coconut oil and some time airing out your baby’s bottom is a terrific start! Diaper rashes can quickly become very painful, and can be caused by a change in diet, teething, illness, allergies, and other reasons.
I am so thankful God (Holy Spirit) led me to think of probiotics to naturally cure yeast (candida) diaper rashes & prevention – sprinkle a little of our Orthobiotic or Ultraflora probiotic in the diaper several times a day until better (and usually resolves in a day or two)!
1. Vinegar Instead of Baby Wipes
Rinse cloth/reusable diapers in water & vinegar solution. Baby wipes can have chemical fragrances (some have been found to be endocrine disruptors!) and healthy bacteria killing ingredients. Simply add 1 tsp. of vinegar in 8 oz of water, stir (or may be easiest to pour into a spray bottle), and lightly dip cloth or spray onto cloth and wipe baby’s bottom clean during each diaper change.
2. Coconut Oil Instead of Petroleum Jelly (A By-product of Oil-Drilling)
A great mixture of coconut oil & lavender essential oil supplies:
- 1/2 c unrefined coconut oil
- 30 drops of lavender essential oil
- 4 oz glass Kerr jars
Simply mix the coconut oil and lavender oil in a jar and keep the lid on it.
3. Organic Cornstarch or Aluminum-Free Baking Soda Instead of Baby Powder
It is also true that some baby powders also include extra ingredients & some chemicals hidden in their products that you will only see in the ingredients as “fragrance”. Some of these ingredients may not be best for your baby’s delicate skin and may even affect their hormone balance.
Remember these natural products can really help our own bottoms and rashes too!
With love and praises for God’s awesome teaching and healing power,
