Fathers – We SO respect you!
“…the glory of sons (and daughters) is their father.” Proverbs 17:14
We respect and thank you SO much for difficult and never ending dedicated work as fathers and husbands to lead us to keep learning and doing our best, to be good honorable people and citizens, to know that with God’s help and our efforts we can do anything, and that there is no greater reward or honor than service for others.
We thank you for first loving and following Jesus more each day, and for loving unconditionally your wife first and then your children. Thank you for continuing to take the time and energy getting to know us and spend time with us. Thank you for teaching us humility, forgiveness, being able to say you are sorry, and teaching us to be hard working. You forever help us to stand up for Christ and love, and to be the light in the fallen world.
For your wife and daughters, we thank you for daily for showing and telling us how very beautiful and precious we are to God and you. You are our mirror each day by telling, reflecting, and showing us our inner and outer beauty and specialness. You really love us, and care to and do listen to us carefully and intently (and not just try to fix us and stop listening like the world). You show your women that you are honored to serve and die for us… You build us up to be great women: able to achieve all that God has planned for us and made us to be!
For your sons, we thank you for being our godly role model and telling us that you love us and are proud of us. You know that few things are more important to a boy and man than a touch or a smile or a word of encouragement from our Dad. You work hard to fill our lives with love, affirmation, blessing, and leadership. We thank you for continuing to teach and model for us a strong definition of manhood (like Ray Lewis in “Raising a Modern Day Knight”) – that a real man… Rejects passivity, Accepts responsibility, Leads courageously, and Expects the greater reward=God’s reward (can remember as RALE).
“How blessed is the man who has made the Lord his trust.” Psalm 40:4
“Serve wholeheartedly as if serving the Lord, because you know that the Lord will reward everyone for whatever good he does.” Ephesians 6:7
“Just as a father has compassion on his children, so the Lord has compassion on those who fear Him.” Psalm 103:13
“Each of you (husbands) must love his wife as he loves himself, and the wife must respect her husband.” Ephesians 5:33
“A good man obtains favor from the Lord…” Proverbs 12:2
My respect, love, and prayers for my great Dad Don Wolf and husband Bruce, and all you husbands and fathers and men… I am so very proud of you all!
