Where Nurse Practitioners Fit at Excell for Life
We at Excell for Life look for medical staff with the same passion for physical, nutritional, and spiritual health at every age. We find those who want to team together to practice our caring holistic listening way consistently for all our patients. We closely communicate with each other if we or our patients have any extra questions or concerns.
Nurse Practitioners:
- can prescribe regular and controlled medications
- can order, perform, and interpret diagnostic tests such as lab work and x-rays
- are licensed in all states
- often run offices and clinics by themselves (with a physician off site reviewing a small percentage of charts)
- have provided excellent health care for over 45 years
Many patients have asked about Nurse Practitioners (NPs). They have extensive training and provide high quality healthcare services similar to those of a physician like myself. NPs diagnose and treat a wide range of health problems and are trained in health promotion, disease prevention, health education and counseling.
More and more people are choosing NPs as their primary, acute and/or specialty healthcare provider. They have distinguished themselves from many other healthcare providers by focusing on the whole person when treating specific health problems and educating the patient on the wide ranging effects of those problems.
Many studies show that patients who have NPs as their primary care provider have fewer emergency room visits, shorter hospital stays, and lower medication costs. NPs work in a collaborative association with physicians who review a certain portion of their visits/month.
The faith that patients have in NPs is shown by almost 600 million visits made to them each year.
I watch and supervise their expert care, and enjoy having the opportunity to learn from them. We are a great team with the rest of our well trained longtime Excell staff. I know you will appreciate her expertise and care as I do!
Blessings & Hugs, Dr. Lisa
