Hope in Haiti – You can change the world one kid, person, & group at a time!
In the words of 10 year old Annika: “I went to Haiti because the Haitian missionary, Roro, at Camp Allendale last summer told us kids all about the need for Haiti to be built up again and that even one child their age going on a mission trip there can make a big difference. I found out he was right, and I am so happy I went.
I DID make a big difference and helped so many people there – myself being a pharmacist and nurse! helping greatly in our medical clinics, a friend, a babysitter for Pastor Payo’s 4 year old Nika, my smiles, and just being a kid from America going there to help… I handled it so well, and all of you can too. I think everybody should go and help… I want to go again next year.”
Our great group of 14 people (our beautiful 10 year old, a 14 year old, college student, 2 doctors, 1 nurse, and businessmen and businesswomen), now missionaries, spent 8 days in beautiful Haiti. We lived in the small town of Caracol, and worked to bring physical, economic, and spiritual healing to the people there and in nearby Roche Platte. They are in the mountainous northern part of Haiti.

We stayed in a church compound with the beautiful Haitian people, living and walking with, teaching and healing, and learning and growing tremendously ourselves…
There is such great widespread poverty and suffering – most sleeping on dirt floors without any nearby and certainly no clean water, tattered few clothes and falling apart shoes, no access to medical care, malnourished and hungry with about one meal a day…
But there is also hope and joy and true sharing and caring among the Haitian people. It was a tremendous life and heart changing and expanding trip.
We strongly encourage you to go on a mission trip there or somewhere in the third world. Without actually going, seeing and serving there, you can’t have a good understanding and feeling of widespread poverty & suffering.
You then have an expansive appreciation of all our over-abundant blessings to be born and live in the United States, and the great high call to give and serve out of our plenty.
Each of us can change the world through one person at a time…
