Supplements and Habits to Support an Alkaline Body

Alkaline General Support:

  • Omega 3/essential fatty acids Orthomega fish oil (best 2-3/day)
  • Well-absorbed B complex (Bio3BGs twice to three x/day)
  • Alpha Base MVI (likely with iron, 2-4/day)
  • Vitamin C with bioflavonoids (1000mg twice to three x/day)
  • Chlorophyll (2 capsules 3x/day or powder)
  • Reacted Magnesium (2-4 capsules/day)
  • Cal Apatite Forte Includes Vitamin D, Calcium, Phosphorus, Microcrystalline Hydroxyapatite Concentrate
  • Concentrated minerals Alka Trace Drops (10 drops in distilled water or juice 3x/day)
  • Vitamin A (beta-carotene 25,000mg breakfast & dinner)
  • Deeper greens (especially during winter to get as many of those alkalizing phytonutrients as possible)

Alkaline Digestive Support Supplements:

  • General enzyme support Ortho Digestzyme or Digestzyme V (1-3 at beginning of meal)
  • Stomach acid support Spectrazyme Metagest (with betaine HCL 1 – 3 before meals)
  • Gallbladder support
  • Beta TCP 1-3 before meals
  • Beta Plus 1-3 before meals ( This can help prevent diarrhea, gives pancreatic support, if likely to be exposed to gluten/wheat!)

Acid Consequences of Mind-Altering Drugs:  Use of marijuana, opium, cocaine, crack, heroin, and other mind-altering substances are extremely acid-forming and deteriorate the immune system.  The greater the use (even if just once a month for marijuana), the more rapid the destruction and you cannot expect to achieve real health.

Emergency Alkaline Support (ie. Stomach upsets, allergies): fresh lemon juice (1 teaspoon in 4 ounces of water every 15-30 minutes as needed), cream of tartar (1/2 teaspoon, and a natural source of potassium), charcoal capsules (especially for stomach upset or diarrhea), organic apple cider vinegar with mother (1-2 Tablespoons in 8 ounces of water), Arm & Hammer baking soda (1 teaspoon in 8 ounces water)

Alkaline Habits

WATER – healing elixir or poisonous?

Best water = distilled or reverse osmosis (with filters changed often) water with 10 drops of liquid trace minerals/8 ounces of water (Alka -Trace is very good), or even better is alkaline restructured water (from a special unit at your sink, and the acid run off water can be used to water plants or as a disinfectant on your skin)

Drink = at least half your weight in ounces/day (and more if you drink caffeine or sweat in exercise or hot weather), so if you weigh 160 pounds, drink at least 80 ounces of water/day and do not let yourself get thirsty!

It is not advisable to drink unfiltered city tap water: chlorine in it breaks down to form chloroform; fluoride is an agricultural waste product; the aluminum used to make the water sparkle has been linked to Alzheimer’s, acid water leaches copper and other substances from the pipes as it runs through them

If you overindulge, don’t worry. Continue this diet with available foods or drinks to alkalize the body

Dr. Baroody uses a combo of 1 and 2.  However, he says you will be surprised about how less frequent these food cravings will be after you follow the 80/20 rule for about 3 months.  Keep your perspective of common sense and humor!

Exercise:  Exercising with good aerobic activity to just before the point of exhaustion creates an alkaline response because of the increased oxygenation.  If we exercise past that point, the body releases excess stored acidity.  Once the body has become accustomed to exercise, it craves it, for it pumps all organs and glands.  Hormonal and digestive functions increase, and alkaline-acid balance is restored.

Sunlight & Moonlight:  At least ½-1 hour of direct sunlight/day is best for the body’s hormonal levels and assist in alkaline-acid balances (between 11AM and 3PM the sun is too direct and produces an acid effect).  The moon is a very alkalizing & magnetic force, and is especially beneficial for those who are anxious or have thyroid or hormonal issues.  “These wonders of God splash abundantly across the porches of our minds and nourish our bodies in unfathomable ways.

Alkaline Alternatives to Jetlag (air inside a plane is loaded with positive ions and is acid-forming):  Drink plenty of juices or water.  Mix 1 teaspoon of chlorophyll powder in 8 ounces of water for every 2 hours of travel (add extra ½ teaspoon in between the 2 hour interval if you are frightened of air travel).  Sleep is also alkalizing.

Stress Hormones are Acid Forming

HOLDING ONE POINT: All emotions, thoughts, and feelings are felt in the physical body (and music, careers, and even color can affect emotions).  Those which are inharmonious produce acid reactions (like anger is felt all through the body and an acid reaction).  Balance these dissident feelings by Holding One Point or a sincere prayer to God.  Constant vigilance against inharmonious thoughts and feelings alkalizes and constructs a stronger, healthier body.

Hold your attention one inch below the navel, and imagine there is a single dot the size of a quarter.  Reduce the size of this imaginary dot several times by one-half, without letting it disappear.  Do this for 10 to 30 seconds.  By holding this point you center the mind, quiet the body (and can achieve peacefulness) and actually produce an alkaline effect in the hormonal system.
